FX35 AVM Birdseye View Camera Icon

Hi Everyone,

My AVM camera module gave up after about 10 years. My Infiniti specialist mechanic (not a dealer) replaced it with the OEM part, and yes what a costly affair that was :), however after the OEM replacement was fitted the car icon in Birdseye view is now a blocky grey rectangle instead of the original overhead car icon that I used to have. See attached screenshot where top pic is original view (nice icon) and bottom pic is current view (blocky rectangle).

Does anyone know if this can be configured in a secret menu somewhere, or should I just bite the bullet and visit an Infiniti dealer to see if they can fix it? This is just a nice-to-have issue I'd like to fix. Thanks.

Anytime you swap a part surrounding the AVM, you also need a Consult III computer to sync things up. There is a secret menu though I'm not certain if "initializing" will sort it out. There's a chance it can get worse and you may lose more functionality with the cameras altogether. The Consult III is usually used in conjunction with the secret menu to load parameters. I can't recall as it's been a while but it's possible that the AVM you have installed now has the serial numbers of the cameras where it came from and you'd need to program your camera serial numbers into the new AVM...not sure but I know there was something along those lines...
