FX35 2012 - Navigation Reboot Issue

Hello,

I have had my FX35 2012 for past one month or so. And today when I was driving with Navigation guidance on I took a different route than what the unit was indicating and in few minutes the whole navigation/dash unit restarted and upon coming back on in few seconds it rebooted again..and again for total of 3 - 4 times after which the reboot loop stopped and the whole unit started to function normally.

Has anyone experienced like this before? Is this just a freak incident that I dont have to worry about?

I think there is a TSB for this although I can't remember the TSB number. Just take it to the dealer if it does it again. You have a warranty so let the dealer solve it. :wink:
 
Could be a faulty nav unit. Dealer warranty should cover that no problem if it's the case. Have you done any mods? Especially electrical ones.
 
Nope..no mods. I tried to recreate the issue but could not. I wanted to wait for it to happen or make it before taking it in for a look...
 
Never heard of that happening. Mention it to the Dealer, and have them note it down, in case it happens again.
 
I had the same issue on my 2011 FX50.
Thought it was somehow because of my iPhone, connected via USB, cause when I unplugged it, system stopped rebooting in a loop. My dealer said nothing about it. He told me, that never had anything like this before. And all the TSB's are for US market cars only, not for European ones...
I had this issue several times, but don't think that it is worth the time spent at the dealer))
