FX35 2004 Iphone integrated stereo kit

I'm going to buy the Nissanipod kit, but have a shop install it. I assume they would be able to come up with the adapters and a power source, do you agree?

By the way thanks for all the research and info, Ron:tup:

I'd be surprised if they can. I say just get the front kit and get it installed and use a Kensington adapter.. That's the easiest & cheapest way to do. If you want to get rid of cable mess all together, just get one of those adapters. To sum up everything (since I think I couldn't explain it well):

- Get the nissanipod.com FRONT kit: This is the easiest to install and you can change the volume using steering wheel and change between playlists, albums, settings etc using the stereo controls.
- The kit (as with all other ipod kits) supports charging on all ipods up to 4th gen and the first gen ipod
- The charging difference is due to Apple's change, not related to iPod kits
- The standard car iPod charging is 12V. New gen ipods/iphones require 5V.
- The voltage needs to be reduced to 5V. Adapters reduce this directly without any other need. Kensington powers the ipod through the cigarette lighter (ie, one more cable).

IF in fact you depend on an audio shop to do the voltage conversion, most likely they'll mess up the kit. If not, they'll reduce the voltage BUT your iPhone will still say "Charging not supported" because there are additional changes need to be done on the circuit board . Simply, you'll probably pay for a "custom" job to the audio shop and still get something not fully functional.

Again, I say get the front kit and get it installed if you don't think you can do it. Then just get a Kensington or an adapter and you're good.

This sure looks like a straight forward product and it works with the new G3 Iphones, charges, works with the stereo and still has complete control. Any experiences out there?:fever:

If you don't have SAT, it looks like it's a good one, if in fact you can control your ipod from the stereo (not just volume). If you have SAT, it's the same thing. It looks like the Neo ProLink PODNISV2 does allow charging of newer iPods but you can't use SAT and PODNISGV6 does NOT allow charging of new ipods but you can use SAT..

If you don't have SAT, try it out. It might be a good solution. If you have SAT though it's the same thing. You'll have to use adapters in that case. Still, it'll be $50 cheaper but I think it'll be better to contact the seller to see if the stereo controls can control the ipod/iphone

In reference to Sat, I have the Sat button but do not have Satellite Radio. I will call them today and get more information. Again, does anyone in the forum have experience with this product?
