Front hub and bearing assembly

I wanted to say thanks for the post [FX35 03-08] HOW TO: Replace AWD Front Hub Bearing Assembly. It was very useful and encouraging, and I successfully replaced the front left hub and bearing assembly on my FX35.

The progress was very similar to the posting, except for the part on how I removed the rusted-on-tight assembly. I was wondering how you guys remove the assembly (if you removed it with some relative ease). And the sensor came off in one piece w/no issue with the bolt breaking off.

I ended up removing the two bolts to the strut as well as the bolt to the outer tie rod to try what worked in the post (hit the assembly from the inside with a heavy hammer). In the end, I bolted it back to the strut and just hammered at the assembly from the side until it popped up.

The metal shield got bent, and I had to bend it back so that it would not rub against the rotor during a test drive (made noise when I turned). The buzzing sounds and other noises are now gone on the front right. Unfortunately, I can now hear noise coming from the front left.

The noise sounds like the rotor is rubbing against the metal shield, and the noise can be heard during a hard turn. Is that a sign of a bad bearing too? The odd part is, that same noise happened to the right side when I was turning hard, but I just bent the shielding back to keep farther away from the rotor.

Well, I bought the assembly and outer tie rod from InifinitPartsUSA. Got the assembly with ease, but they sent the wrong outer tie rod (sent left side instead of what I ordered-right/passenger side). Their online system has the wrong part number for the right side.

FX35 - 2004 AWD

48520-CG025 - left/driver side outer tie-rod
48640-CG085 - right/passenger side outer tie-rod

I read up on diagnosing a bent rotor. There's no pulsating feel while braking soft or hard. Upon inspection of the metal shield by the rotor, it's rusted and it sits very close to the rotor. I just bent it a little bit out of the way and the noises are now all gone. The metal shield is $20, and I wish I had replaced it when I replaced the bearing assembly.
