fork mount bike trays for FX35 w/factory cross bars

I have a 2011 FX35 with factory installed crossbars. I realized after buying the car that the crossbars are not adjustable. I would like to use fork mount bike trays, but can't find an option that will work on the FX without hitting the back hatch when opened. If I could move the cross bars forward, that would not be an issue, but I don't have that option. Any suggestions?

You can put the fork mount bike rack in reverse order, rear tire facing the front/ handle bar facing the rear. That;s how I do it.
 
Yup, that's how I roll too with the Yakima Forklift, fork towards the back.

I also have the Thule Step Up since I'm short. Great for loading the Cargo box too!
 
Was all upset when I went to load up the luggage in the back and the liftgate hit the bike rack. Ended up putting a little nick on it but I touched it up with paint, can barely notice it. I guess ill have to flip the rack around so it doesn't hit. Kind of a dumb setup that they aren't adjustable, wish you can bring the front crossbar forward a few more inches.
