Folks on iS,
I've recently ran into an issue with my driver's side fog light. Seldom the light started to go on and off; I would take the connector off the 9006 bulb then back on and it would work again. I just recently found the issue with some closer inspection by myself and the dealership here. I trust my dealership greatly with the care and inspection of my FX after all we have been through. The wiring just past the connector contains a small tear exposing some wire that seems to have a little corrosion going on, causing a fluctuation of power to the fogs.
I've been trying to find a quick replacement but it looks like Infiniti only sells the entire connector (Connecting end followed by wire to the relay?).
Anyone have experience with this and is it an easy fix if I just purchased the whole connector piece (~$35)? I also would like to know if the wire to the connector are soldered or is there a "pinch" method used? How would I be able to take that wire out of the connector without damaging it to use again?
I am also planning on doing the HID mod for the fogs soon as well but need to take care of this connection now, as I hear.
Any info or direction would be terrific folks. Thanks for your help!
