Made a few changes to my FX37:

1. OEM Aero chin spoiler
2. Vinyl wrapped the grill center slats in gloss black

Next will be to powdercoat (or paint - still haven't decided) my OEM 21" 6 spoke wheels

Nice, you don't like the look of the whole grill black?

haha, I was actually trying to black it all out, but vinyl was a lot harder to work with than I thought. Tried two different methods of wrapping the chrome surround, and both times it came out messed up. I even had the chrome surround completely removed from the rest of the grill, still no dice.

On the upside, leaving the surround chrome makes it so the chrome foglight housings don't stick out like a sore thumb.

If I do decide to murder everything out, then I'll probably end up painting the grill in the future.

you know i had total failure wrapping the front grill aswell. Twice! Until i decided to wrap the upper end & sides in one piece & the bottom area in another leaving the cut just right at the bend. I did the opposite. Did the outside flat black & left the inner slats chrome. Hardest part for me was the chrome fender vents. What a pita! Still not perfect till today but i will redo em eventually.

That's a good idea, I may have to give that a try. Did you overlap the ends of the vinyl, or did you line them up?

I tried playing with the vinyl some more, and I think I got a little better at handling edges and round areas. I think the trick is to go super slow, and apply heat. It took forever just for one section of the grill chrome surround, but it came out better.

I actually used thin flat black vinyl & i overlaped it right at the edge. Since its soo thin its barely noticeable. I just stretched and massaged it in to avoid bubbles as i went along the lines. I tried heat but it stretches too much. I think heat works best with thicker vinyl as in 3m.
