First big mistake

Thank you in advance if I’m welcomed here with my 2007 g35x (AWD VQ35HR). Recently after my heater had started to malfunction I noticed my engine felt hot but my radiator wasn’t turning on. Shortly after my ses light came on and good news it was just a thermostat problem! So I got the new part and required coolant so I can take it home and start the repair…. Installing the third and last screw to finish my project the screw snapped and 3hrs later I have my whole front end dismantled just to reach the screw comfortably and took it off with some pliers. (Screw was sticking out of the block put the new part with new gasket put everything back on and noticed when I sat in my car I had left the battery connected. What kind of blush!t am I doing to myself! Sweating. I start my car and the ses engine turned off and as I’m waiting for a bit it turns on. Took it back for code reads at autozone and I get code P0081 so an intake valve control circuit in bank 2 so the vct solenoid is recommended for replacement. Since I left on the power I’m hoping I can look over the harness and hope I can find a shirt for a simple solution if not I’ll have to replace the the solenoid either way I can’t find a service manual to make sure the whole case doesn’t need to be replaced
