[/IMG]I just installed QTP electric exhaust cutouts on my Invidia exhaust. They are after the cats, resonators, and cross-pipe, so they aren't ridiculously loud. But with a flick of the switch (hidden in my center console), it bypasses the main mufflers, letting out the awesome FX-45 roar! I like being able to close them for trips and driving the family around, as the drone can be annoying. They are finished off with the OEM tips and tucked underneath where they are barely visible.

Interesting idea. So was it purely for sound? I haven't really seen cutouts done on aftermarket exhausts too much. Why did you put tips on it? Usually when I see cutouts, they just put a turn down on them so you don't see them at all.

The parts were about $250 and installation was about $150 at a local muffler shop. I had to run the wires and used the power from the 12V supply in the center console storage compartment, with a "secret switch" in there to actuate the valves. My son says it's like a James Bond car!
Originally, my exhaust flange rusted back by the axle. I ran it open for a few months and got used to the sound! Once I put the Invidia system on, I was bored.
Since I installed the cutouts after the cats and cross pipe, it is not crazy loud, just deeper. All the clips on computers sound like a Dodge Omni, so I didn't bother.
Not sure about power, but I feel no low-end loss, like you would expect if they were dumping at the headers.
Fun toy to keep me amused! Also makes people scratch their heads when they look under the car and see the original tips tucked under there!
