Hi everyone, I got the h&r springs and new struts installed this weekend, and it got this loud knocking noise coming from the engine. Everything was fine when I installed the passenger side and moved the car on Saturday. (no knock as I back the car into the parking spot). And I put the driver side on yesterday(didnt start the car until today).
So when I started the engine just now and it sounded really rough at startup. I shut off the engine and started again, it wasn't as bad but still loud. I was suspecting the engine oil level might be low so I added some oil. It seems to lessen the noise by a little but it is still there. The knock gets louder as I rev the engine.
I didn't touch any electrical component during the installation. The only possibility I could think of is that the steering column shaft that connects to the brakes. I kinda dropped the front brake unit down by accident( wasn't on the ground) and I kinda wiggled it a little before I held it back in place. Other than this, I have no clue what could cause the Knock.. on the cluster theres no indication of oil level being low, just the ABS, VDC, AWD and SLIP as we can see in the picture below. I have attached a short clip of the knock for a better understanding of what I am trying to explain. Any insight/advice is really appreciated! Thank you for your time
