DTRL 7443 LED over heating problem

Planning to update my DTRL with 7443 LED, I heard lots of bad stories regarding DTRL 7443 LED over heating and either burn it self or melt the socket, so that's why I'm wondering which brand should I go with. As far as I know currently, the 7443s from V-LEDs is the brightest ones, correct me if I'm wrong.
DTRL is different from other lights, it's on all the time while you're driving, I think this is what those bad stories based on.
Any input would be highly appreciated!

The ones that were burning out the sockets/ burning themseleves out were those high powered cree leds. A normal smd 50/50 led will work just fine.

Has anyone installed high power 7443 led without any issue?

What I really want is to install high power (7Ws and up)7443. It's not like those low power ones, they are very hot as far as I know and have over heating problems. So just wondering anyone has first hand experience with high power 7443 leds used as DTRL which keep on all the time while you drive? Thanks!

Try using a 5W to see if that helps. I think the difference in output should be minimal and could help maintain a cooler operating temperature. I'm scheming something big using this theory. :ninja:
