Does anyone know a good brake shop in Chicago area

I have 2009 fx35 which needs new rear brake pads. I don't want to spend hundreds at a dealer to get the rear brake pads done only. I would rather buy the front and rear OEM brake pads from the Internet and take it to an aftermarket shop to get installed. Does anyone know a reputable brake shop in the Chicago or surrounding areas that will do a good job for decent price. I would preferably like to go to someone who has experience with fx35's. Thanks!

I agree, if Handy_Andy (La_FX35) wants to and has time, he would be cheaper than a dealership/shop, but he would do a much more thorough job. He is a perfectionist so he does everything by the book. It would save you money and throw some spare money in his pocket (again if he wants to do it).

If not, http://www.nortown.net/index.htm is where I got my big brake kit put on, and there was some custom work involved so they know their stuff. Hourly rate I think is $100, which is high, but they work on everything from a toyota to ferrari's - if that shows you the skills of their techs.

The other shop I go to is my cousin's shop, he does 100% of the work on my car now so he's very familiar with Infiniti's. Anyways, pads are easy for any mechanic. He has an account at Infiniti/Nissan so can get you parts, but typically parts are cheaper online at infinitipartsusa.com or even tirerack.com

Hahaha, "TurTLeG Garage". He another handy guy in the Chicago area. I have not met the guy in person, but had a couple pm with him. He seems like a cool guy and been around Infiniti stuff too.

Great shop. Family owned shop.

I always get maintenance done here when I'm in the Chicago area.
