My '09 just hit 43K and the belt started making a light squeaking noise last week. Brought it to the shop and they took a look (of course it didnt happen to be squeaking at that moment for some damn reason lol), said the belt was a little glazed but everything else seemed fine. Quoted me $150 to replace the belt: $50 labor and $100 for the belt. Well i just went and bought a Gates K070810 belt for $20 online, and have seen a few members comment on how easy it is to replace yourself..

Has anyone ever changed their own serpentine belt? Couldn't find a write up on here, maybe someone could point me in the right direction elsewhere online?

Thanks!

I've noticed my belt has been squeaking during cold winter weather but doesn't squeak during the summer/warm days. It only squeaks on idle. But I don't think my belt has ever been changed. Bought it used and it's currently at 70k miles. Maybe I need to change mine too. Let me know if you find out how to change it.

Just a quick tips... Use a couple binder clips to hold belt onto the idlers/pulleys while you snake it around to the rest.

The auto tensioner is pretty hard to move. The tensioner has a 3/8 hole to put your breaker bar or wrench in. I had to use another pipe to have enough torque to loosen it.

Oh... using the binder clips is a good tip!

My local autozone has Dayco and I've heard theyre good... Anyone running this belt?
