I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE DONE TO YOUR VEHICLE BY FOLLOWING THIS GUIDE! DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK OR LIVE WITH THE UGLY YELLOW DOOR STEP LIGHTS HAHA! PLEASE DO NOT POST THIS GUIDE NO WHERE ELSE OR MODIFY IT. Email or PM me with any questions you may have
I had an LED bulb fail on me so I contacted Superbrightleds.com to send me some new ones under warranty. Since I had the door step light housing out to put the new bulbs in, I thought what the hell, I'll just make a DIY guide on this for all my fellow IS members. Just wanted to make a simple guide to show you guys how to change our ugly yellow stock door step lights. Definately worth the $5 each I paid for these bulbs. I already changed all of the other interior lights in my FX, so I may make some future DIY guides on those too.
I recommend these bulbs since their the brightest I've seen and make a perfect fit in the door step light housings. I went with cool white to match the headlights and foglights:

1. Insert your trim remover tool in between the top of the door step light housing and the door trim. Once you have it in between the gap pull down on it towards you. Be careful not to damage the door trim or light housing, last thing we want is damaged scratched parts. It will pop right out. Just use a little elbow grease and easy does it:
2. The housing should now be hanging down. Don't disconnect the back wire attached to the housing because it might go back up inside the door and it's a pain to pull pack out:
3. Once out separate the white backing from the clear lens. Just take your hands and pull it apart. There's four little tabs holding it together:
4. Take out the old bulb and put your new LED bulb in the socket. Make sure it's secured properly in the socket so that it won't come out if you slam the door. Also make sure it's operating before putting the clear lens cover back on:
5. Finally put the clear lens cover back on the wire socket and snap the housing back up in the door trim.
And finally your done!! Enjoy your new look
