DIY cold air intake?

Sounds like a good idea... Make sure you look up what type of reaction happens when pvc is heated up.. Chloride gas Mmmm.

someone has done that before, i think it was on the .org. However they dragged the tube all the way down to the lower part of the front bumper

If you really want to be hardcore, you could remove one of the foglights to draw the air in too, but be careful of water, etc.

lol nah no hardcore for me. more for fun ( cant really afford a cai atm lol). not sure what to do about the water situation. im thinking of doing it in 3 inch pipe, and putting a p trap at the 90 going up, then a drain with a mini p trap for water to escape.

ABS will be fine. It won't get hot enough in that place to off-gas or melt. Its also way better insulated than the thin vacuum tubing the G35 guy used anyway. The other benefit of ABS is the use of mechanical compression fittings, which are reversible.

whats that?? i think it would be ok also. it would be as far awaya from the engine.

I believe the stock intake is good enough, what about porting the intake manifold or polishing the throttle body?

Probably better and more cost effective to purchase an aftermarket intake manifold like Kinetix or Crawford for the 35s instead. However, I am currently getting my intake manifold ported and polished on my 45 because there are no other options.
