DIY - A different way to Replace front CV Axle
without removing knuckle or strut.

1) Remove Axle nut cotter pin and break axle nut loose before jacking up.

2) Remove speed sensor and pull out of support brackets.

3) Remove Brake Caliper and Caliper bracket and Disk Rotor.

4) Remove 4 Hub bolts and remove Hub Assembly.

5) Pry between axle and transaxle housing and guide old axle out through opening.

6) Clean up grease mess. I sprayed everything down with WD40 and wiped clean.

7) Lube shaft at seal surfaces and splines. Install new axle be careful of seal. Make sure it's all the way in.

8) Reinstall Hub Assembly and speed sensor.

9) Attach Disk Rotor with a couple of lug nuts.

10 Reinstall Caliper Bracket (98 ft lbs - Caliper Bracket bolts) ,
Brake Caliper (20 ft lbs - Caliper Pin bolts)

11) Put cleaned wheel back on. Remove jack stand and lower vehicle just enough to hold wheel solid while torquing Axle Nut (203 ft lbs).

12) Install the cotter pin, Remove Jack and your DONE.

Torque values:
20 ft lbs - Caliper Pin bolts.
98 ft lbs - Caliper Bracket bolts.
65 ft lbs - Hub Mounting bolts.
203 ft lbs - Axle (spindle) Nut.
