Hey guys,

Have any of you guys wrapped the ugly lower factory matte plastic "skirts" around the sides and back in carbon fiber?

I'd like to get an idea of what it looks like before I consider something like this.

Would it be easy to take these pieces off?

I'd also like to wrap the chrome door handles, chrome window trim, chrome fenders, and possibly roof rails as well as possibly debadging or changing the badges to a more gunmetal color instead of chrome.

Any tips would be helpful!

Def a project, not sure if anyone has done the lowers, I would 100% remove, wrap and reinstall each peice for a cleaner result. Had the same thoughts.

Just paint the lowers. Like Slamming said you will probably have to have them removed to get a good result with vinyl wrap, I already shopped around and it will be just as expensive maybe a little less than painting if they do it right. I inquired at the same place that Da Mayor had his whole car wrapped (and they did an excellent job there) and they said its doable but it would be a project and a half because of all the cut outs in the front. They also said that carbon fiber wrap and brushed satin finish wrap doesn't look good on pieces that involve a lot of cutting and stretching because the carbon fiber and brushed satin pattern has to be laid all in one direction without being too stretched out to look good. Makes sense if you think about it.

Like the thought of it. I wonder if I should paint or do something on my Gen1. I need to do something to set mine apart slightly but don't have all the money in the world to do it with my second baby due in 3 weeks

It's about $2k to paint the lowers(right way), if I'm not mistaken.
