few weeks ago the fx lost air on one of the tires and found out that the valve stem went bad. last weekend, wife and i were running errands and realized another tire lost air, again turns out to be cracked valve stem. this time, since i drove it enough not realizing the problem, the tire was damaged. my tire shop checked the rest of the valves and found one more cracked and replaced all as a result. i also end up with 2 replacement ventus.
i did a little research online and found out that around 2006 there was a recall/bulletin regarding valve stems from dill acp and tech international. sure enough, the valve stems i had when i got new tires were from dill. the good thing is that there is a claim process so i may get reimbursed for the tire damage.
in case anyone here got tires around 06 or 07 and lost air due to valve stems like my experience, have all the valves checked at least (or physically check for cracks) and get them replaced if it is from one of the manufacturers i typed above.
