Dealer swapped My theatre headphones

I recently purchased an Infiniti certified 2013 black triple package jx35. It had one headset with it, we made a deal to get another one thrown in and update navigation and all weather mats etc. surprised me that there was some rusting around the rear hatch by the emblems.

So we've had the car for two weeks already, took in in for paintwork service. Picked up the car a week later, and noticed two headphones jammed in the same pouch, which was somewhat odd. I thought they came in separate pouches, oh well.

The next day I take the headphones out to setup for my son and wtf. They are completely different. Gone was the original oem one I had with the car and replaced with 2 aftermarket ones that say rw-ir2 on the sides.

I'm super annoyed with my dealership, what did they think I wasn't gonna notice the headphone is completely different. Oem $200 swapped for a $20 headset. Seriously.

Wow, that sucks big time. I doubt you will get anything out of the dealer. Remember the sign posted in the service area that they're not responsible for items left in your car? That's one reason, if I have to leave my car at a shop, I always take my garage opener (if one of those clip on ones), sunglasses and radar detector.

Seeing your from ohio, you should leave a Cleveland steamer bean in their nicest car on the showroom. ( that's just one guy talking tho)

Raise hell with the dealer and if you don't get anywhere there, hit up the Infiniti facebook page.

this pisses me off, ive had similiar experience with service guys taking stuff without replacement

File a police report if they don't do anything to give you what belongs to you.

If you bought it from that same dealer, they're more likely to replace them as a gesture of goodwill. Technically they're not responsible since you have no proof that it happened (ie. video) but most dealers would take care of it instead of dealing with an irate customer.

After posting this thread I called some dealership parts departments to make sure the headphones are sold separately and the part number.

Well I spoke to the General manager after the sales rep was "busy". He stated that he would talk to the Sales guy, and that they should have mentioned if I was being given aftermarket headphones. Regardless, Because I was not informed, and and the original headphones were removed from the vehicle, he would make sure I received 2 OEM headphones. He said He could take them from another new vehicle but he would rather not since they tend to get misplaced.

"I will talk to the salesperson about the slight of hand".. Not Surprisingly I have not received a call back from my salesperson after talking to the GM. He Would also fedex me new temp tags (original temps expire 7/24)

A couple days later the service manager calls me to see how my service was, and of course I mentioned what happened. He remembers me mentioning to him how it was weird that both headphones were stuffed in 1 bag.

He apologized and mentioned to me that the original headphone was still in their possession and " I think they removed it, so you would have a matching set". A new one has arrived in bubble wrap and they will be fedexing that to me. I was also due another set of temp tags as my real Virginia tags haven't arrived yet to the dealer, but of course they forgot to mail them to me in time before they expired. So he got someone to drive my temp tags to me in youngstown from the dealer (1hr + trip)

This whole experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth about dealerships. I didn't trust them before and they just cemented my thoughts. I understand its a used vehicle and not a new one, but seriously don't be an asshole.

Dealership owes me: Hard plates for Virginia, 2014 Nav DVD update, 2 OEM headphones with another black velvet bag (supposedly new ones don't come in their own bag?)

lets see if they come through

Good. You can also mention to the dealer this matter has been actively discussed on this forum. Send him a link..

I just got a package in the mail with my original headset returned to me (still weary why they removed it). And a brand new one in bubble wrap. For some reason I didn't get another sleeve, but I'll deal with that later.

So now I have 2 oem ones and 2 cheapo ones. As you can tell from the pic the rw-ir2 previous replacements are quite different 9ena2e7a.jpg

Also got in the 2014 nav update DVD the owed me. Hopefully it's worth the update

I'm glad they tried their best to fix the situation, obviously I would have preferred no situation at all. Hopefully there aren't anymore hiccups with this place.

I spy a usmle step 2ck master the boards book underneath the headphones lol. I am studying the exact book

Haha yea it's missing a lot of info but I heard it's a lot better than first aid for the ck.

Ya it's not as detailed as first aid but everyone I know who has taken the step 2ck recommends master the boards and have scored well using that book.
