not sure how and where to start.

last month got a new dashcam installed in my FX and never expect to capture any special moments
until this.

took my FX in for service (minor warranty checkup)
drop off Friday around 5pm.
picked up next day- Saturday around 11am.

got home Saturday night and reviewed the dashcam footage
to my surprise... heres what happened.

Friday night around 10pm, a service tech started my FX
and revved it for about 10 seconds and poped my hood opened
thats where the video got cut off.

I have a modified exhaust, maybe the tech was checking out my setup?

I really don't know what to do. Perhaps show this video to my service advisor or service dept. manager?
Is it even legal to have a dash cam inside a Infiniti dealership (recording)?
I have no idea why is this tech revving my FX at 10pm when the dealership is closed?

any advice please. I really don't know what I can do from here?

Interesting.
Any idea why the camera shut off?
Are you certain about the 10pm time? I assume the camera is dependent on an internal battery and not the car battery.
Did the video start recording at all again before you picked it up?

the camera was shut off because the car power if off.
I had the dashcam wired into the fusebox whenever the car is on/have power,
the dashcam will be on. then it will shut off approx. 1min when car power is off.
but I think the setting might be wrong, the built-in internal battery would not hold
to power for 1min.

the dashcam did record some other footage inside the shop since the FX
was dropped off and picked up.

Definitely seems odd, but probably nothing bad. I can't imagine anything going on that late, but there may be a perfectly legit explanation.
I would mention it to the service advisor or manager but not be accusatory about it. Kind of depends on your relationship with them.
And of course out of pure curiosity, I have to ask which dealership it was.
