Daytime Running Lights not working

Need a little help, I was changing out my day time running light bulb and somehow something got short circuited and now my day time running lights are not working. I check all the fuse and circuit and they seem to all be working. Head lights, turn signal, brake lights, emergency lights and fog lights are are working. It seems like everything on the car is working except for the daytime running light. So I cant drive the car at night but daytime its ok due to the lights. My knowledge of cars is not that great but from what I know (correct me if I am wrong) that since it short circuit, something on the car needs to be reset in order for the lights to work again? I even disconnected the battery for about 3-5 minutes (disconnected the negative side) I have no idea what is wrong, all lights are working except for the day time running lights.

Hopefully someone can chime in and help me out?

I have an 08 FX35

are you sure everything are working?

when i changed my dtrl a fuse blew and all my interetior dashboards lights didnt work

I bet you did blow the DTRL fuse. It's in a fuse box at the back of your battery compartment. (We have one fuse box next to the driver's knee, two relay boxes in front of the battery and one fuse box behind the battery). You have to remove the plastic around the battery door, all the way up to the windshield. Then the fuse box cover comes up and off and the DTRL fuse is near the top - 10A.

At most autoparts stores they sell fuses that light up when you blow them. That makes them super easy to see when you do blow one. I swapped most of mine out just for that reason.

If you do a search on DTRL here, you should be able to find a photo of the fuse box & location.

All the lights work, interior lights console lights all working. everything works. I will check for the DTRL fuse box location tomorrow and see. I thought I checked all the fuse and curcuit boxes already but I could have missed it. I check the one at the driver's knees, two boxes where the oil is and two more boxes where the battery is. I will do a search for the DTRL box tomorrow and see.

Thanks for all the input.

Are the new DTRL bulbs you got dual polarity? Are they the aftermarket LED kind or a direct oem replacement? If they are the aftermarket dual polarity LED type then try flipping the bulbs and reinsert to make sure it is seated in the correct polarity position. If that does not work then you most likely blew the DTRL fuse located in the fuse box behind the battery.

Thanks for all the help....it was the hidden fuse box that I didn't see until I lifted the windshield plastic guard almost behind the battery. Thanks again for all the help...
