Dash electronics completely blank

My wife was driving her FX home from work one night about a month ago and all the electronics inside the car were off. EVERYTHING! She pulled over and shut the car off, then restarted it and it was all fine. This has happened only once, but I am concerned. Also, the other night, while in the garage, the alarm started going off at midnight then shut itself right off. Nobody was awake in the house, it just did it all on it's own!

Any ideas or concerns?

No, no aftermarket stuff. I failed to mention, the key fob had gone through the washing machine about a year ago, and I recently was able to tweak with the battery contacts in it to make it work. But.....it was not being touched at all when this happened.
 
could be shorted remote, may explain the mysterious alarm activation. dash lights all out strange... electrical gremlin... if it don't happen often could be hard to trace, tough call on that one, only way to trace that is when it's happening
