Hi turbo this is custom Jeff is the dashboard on your fx from a newer fx or stock
I ask this question because in the photos the touch screen mod looks flawless being that there was a cassette deck below and you would have had to cut it to fit?

Also thank you for sharing your paddle shifter mod with every one it works great!
 
so you did the paddles? wow, didn't actually here of anyone that followed my guide & did it themselves completely, cool :tongue:

I used a dashboard from an 06-08 model, it has a larger opening & did away with the cassette door thing, the bottom of that dash is like you see in my pictures... just all open... I did have to cut the cassette portion off of the climate/audio button panel though, the circiut board did protrude lower than the dash, no problem cutting it off though as the traces that were lost are only for cassette control anyway...
 
I also was able to dissect the factory radio & completely remove the whole 6 disc changer part from it, as well as the cassette mechanism, I have been able to reduce the whole radio stack down to a box the size of one single din unit, without giving up any functionality of navigation, radio reception & all the other good stuff the factory tech screen provides, only thing I have given up is the actual use of the factory disc player & the cassette player, both of which sucked anyway to me...

this has given me a ton more room in my dash & could be useful for anyone looking to do heavier dash mods... I'll try to put up some pictures & info of this mod later...
 
ok, here is what I did to my radio stack to make more room in the dash, I was able to remove all this from the stock radio & still have it function 100% for everything else besides the casette & the cd of course, since there no longer there:

there is also this little box in the dash, part of the radio system, made by clarion... I had so much extra space in the new radio enclosure that I just stuck this box in there too:

& here it is all buttoned up, exactly 1 single din size.... :

def opened up a ton of room... room for what? guess that's up to whoever is customizing there dash :tongue: thought this might help someone though...
