Could Infiniti sue Conair?

I was watching TV the other day and stumbled upon this: http://infiniti.conair.com/ Are they legally allowed to use their name? Just had me a little curious...:sluggish:

Yes, but they'll probably have to use my lawyer. He's very busy at the moment with my multi-directional suit against Tim Robbins, Tim Allen, the estate of Timothy Leary, and the 4th dimension aka "TIMe ", but I'm sure he could move some things around for Infiniti.

It would be a long shot as a successful lawsuit. Infiniti would need to show that the Conair product would directly impact and confuse consumers that the products were related. I doubt any judge would agree that the two companies are competitors. At least that's my understanding of patent law.

Yes, like aiya said Infiniti (Nissan's brand) would have to prove that customers are being confused into thinking Conair's Infiniti line is related to Infiniti vehicles. You would have to be a complete moron to be confused like that. No different than Infinity speakers and Infiniti vehicles...a simple letter change will not bypass trademark laws but using the names for completely different products will.

Interesting note, Ford took legal action against Ferrari for trademark infringement because both had vehicles called the F-150 (Ford) and F150 (Ferrari). Since both brands produced vehicles, the infringement stood up even though the vehicles are vastly different.

Those look the same to me. Both are red. Both have four black rubber thingies on the bottom. Both have a "sunroof". Darn Ferrari stealing all the Ford thunder!

no, he's referring to when Infiniti had a commercial for the M series and at the end of the commercial... the narrator says something about "...it's the NEW 'M'.."

BMW sued Infinit for that
