Component speakers - tweeter in door or dash?

Hi all -

Looking for a little feedback and advice regarding the title. Picked up a set of component speakers to install in the ride. Plan to hook them up to an aftermarket amp. After doing some research regarding this subject, I have read that placing the tweeter in the dash may not be the best due to the distance from the mid-range.

With that said, I am hoping someone here has done one set up or the other and can share some feedback on the sound quality of their respective setup.

Thanks in advance!

I like my setup a lot(see my garage). Boston Acoustics S35 in dash and Morel mid bass in doors(from component speakers). Dash speakers tuned to play highs and mids and door speakers tuned to midbass and some very low mids. I decided no to use tweeters, didn't like the way it sounded. As far as I remember tweeter should not be mounted more than 6"-8" away from the midbass in a 2-way set up.

Thanks Zebra for the insight. Very nice setup you have there. I like the HU. Been trying to figure hoe to get me a double bin set up as well. Right now I just have a single din replacing the clock.
