Cold Weather Causing Low Tire Pressure?

So it's usually around 90-100 degrees here. It's about 75 out now though. I drove to a friends house tonight, then the FX sat outside for 4 hours in the cooler weather. It was in my garage previously, which would have been warm. When I got in, the tire pressure light came on within about 3 minutes, and it said I was at 34, 24, 33, 31. I pulled off, and all tires looked ok, so I just continued home since it was a mile away. By the time I got home the pressure had increased to 25 in the suspect tire. Is it possible that with the sudden cooler weather, my tire could have dropped 5-7 PSI? I will check for nails tomorrow and such. I thought I was actually gonna get to use my spare.

Oh, I didn't know that. I thought it was when there was a difference of X number of PSI between the highest tire. I guess that is on another car. I looked and felt all the tires when I got home, and couldn't determine which was the culprit. I will check again in the morning and rock my blacked out spare.

I think the general rule is 1 psi for every 10 degree change.

I had a tire that set off the pressure light and thought maybe, hopefully it was the weather. So I inflated it and just watched it... lost about 7-8 psi over two weeks. Brought it in to discount tire and they "fixed a flat". Didn't tell me what was wrong with it though. Since its just that one tire, you are probably leaking somewhere.

You may have a small leak somewhere in one of the tires. Look for a small nail or something. Make sure you check the inner parts of the tire too.

If you find a nail, don't pull it out.
Next time you go on a trip, look at the PSI readings and after some highway time, they will be 3-5 PSI higher.

Ya I know not to pull it out haha. And I know about temp going up. That's why I thought the pressure just dropped when it went up after driving.

There was a screw in one of the treads, that was causing a slow leak. Threw on my spare, which does not fit with our lug nuts, and took it to Discount Tire. They said the Hankook's cannot be patched, so I'm getting a new tire put on. I just hope I can break it in fast enough.

Hankkoks can't be patched or plugged? I know that a side wall can't be patched but in the tread area ? Iv'e never heard that before I have always pluged screw holes in many different tires sounds like they just wanted to sell you a new tire.Anyone else heard of this before?

If its in the tread it should be plugged. The only time Ive been denied a plug was when the tread was too low. Dunno - sounds kinda fishy to me, Id ask to keep the old tire

They ended up patching the old tire. I didn't want to break in a new one anyway. I guess I should mention, it would have been a free replacement, aside from a small fee for a new warranty certificate.

I live in AZ now and everytime i drive to CA the next day my TPS tells me i have low pressure in all 4 tires, especially at night. I drive it a few miles or the weather heats up the alarm goes away.
didnt put a drop of air in and now back in AZ 32,33,33,32
Temp does affect it
