Hi, Brand new to the FX35 Scene with an 06. Just bought used and also a couple times over night the rough start. I am going to check the battery but also wanted a little clarification on the AC amplifier. What is the exact name of this part or any chance the part number. What does this part actually do. Thanks, Don't want too much of the new excitment to wear off because of this. Tim

The Actual part name is called the "AC Amplifier". If you look online it will be under HVAC. On Infinitipartsonline.com its $333.34. As for the part number I think that there is 2 part numbers. The way to for you to find out exactly which one you need is giving them your Vin # so they can get you the exact one for your car. It goes by the date that your car was manufactured. The AC Amp I guess controls alot of different components in your car meaning alot of electrical stuff going on in there. I'm not sure if there is a way to actually test it and to find out if it's bad or not on your own. You might have to bring it to the Stealership for that and even still they probably might not even figure it out. I went to my local Infiniti dealership and they told me that I needed to buy "an Infiniti battery" because other batteries don't work the same. I'm somewhat knowledgeable with vehicles and everything, I do all of my own maintenance and repairs and stuff so I have a little sense of things. I replaced my battery literally 2 weeks before and still had the starting problem. I've posted a bunch of replies on the tread so just read all of them. I'm not saying that this part will fix your car, but it fixed mine. Just to give you a heads up though, if you have infiniti fix that part with labor and everything it will cost you about $800.00. It literally took me 10 minutes to install it myself. The dealership couldn't figure out the problem either so I had to figure it all out on my own. That's the reason why I absolutely hate to even think about bringing any of my vehicles into any dealership for any type of work. The internet is a great source for learning on how to work and fix your car yourself. I saved about $450.00 by doing it myself :). Since you have an 06 the AC amp is very simple to get out if you have any mechanical skills. It's located right behind the HVAC controls right below the Screen. That whole panel just pops right off pulling towards you. Once you get that panel off it will be the flat/long light gray box right below the screen. Unscrew the screws and unplug it and then vice versa to finish. Once again this part fixed my car, but it might be different for yours. I went through the starting issue for over 2 years to the point that I wanted to just dump the thing because it got me so frustrated. Before you buy a new battery go down to an Autozone or something and have them test it before you buy one. Just my .02 cents. JET

Hey guys,
I just wanted to let you know that I had the hard start scenario happening on our 06 FX. Same scenario that I saw on the YouTube videos and read about on this forum. I own a shop and work on these vehicles. I looked at e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g, throttle body, ECM signals, you name it. The battery was testing good, but was the original, at 5.5 years old. I installed a MTP 24F battery in it and the next startup it was gone, period. This is my wifes vehicle and she said it starts with more authority than she can ever recall. I can't tell you exactly the reason why, maybe this a/c amplifier thing draws too much current at startup when the batteries are not up to full pop and causes the issue?? But for what it is worth, if the battery is old....or cheap...put a good one in and see if it goes away.
