I noticed that a one inch section of clear coat was flaking off on the trim around my front window. Can I just touch it up with some clear from the auto parts store?
Sure, I think that would work okay. Krylon Fusion clear coat is a good one to us. Many of us here have used Krylon black and clear for many projects, like touching up trim, painting grilles and other plastics.
