yeah so i searched a good hour trying to find thread about cleaning your tires and wheels to get the perfect shine. NO one had one!

so if you guys have any good ideas on how to clean your wheels and which product works the best POST away!

LETS GO!

I've heard Rejex is the best to put on rims but that is more of a sealent/wax than cleaner. I use Griots Garage wheel cleaned it is safe on all finishes and does a great job!

p21s wheel gel cleaner is one of the best and safest product right now for cleaning your wheels.
For tires, you can use most All Purpose Cleaners (like meguiar) or degreasers, but stay away from acid based products because it can ruin certain wheel finishes.

Tire dressings are pretty much the same, depending if you want matte or gloss finish.
For that dark matte look, Poorboys, Zaino, and Opti-bond are some good products.

For more glossy/oily look, Blackfire, Meguiars, Duragloss seem to work well.

The most important to best tire shine is how much prep work you do, like most things in detailing.

:) You're welcome. I forgot to mention though that most APC and Degreasers can and should be diluted, as you don't ever really need them as concentrated as they come. Depending on the product, I dilute it in water 2:1 or sometimes even 5:1 (one being the product).

I'm sure Andrew will have some products to recommend you too.

I asked this on another thread but figured I would put it where it should be. What is the best way to keep powder coated wheels clean and scratch free? Dee recommended wheel wax or a light polish. Any other suggestions or product recommendations?
Thanks!

1. Nothing is going to keep it scratch free.
2. Wheel sealants (wax) may help with keeping it cleaner, but there are many controversies on wheel sealants having any real benefits.
3. Polish (light or heavy) is an abrasive product nonetheless. Why would you use an abrasive product on something that doesn't need it (I'm assuming you're talking about new powdercoated parts).
4. Just take care of it like you would your normal car paint and you should be good to go.
