Hello, I i recently had an amplifier and subwoofer installed a that's when things started to happen. ...... dash lightscame on randomly ? Cruise,tire, and dynamic stability control .... oh and the following day door locks wouldn't unlock drivers and passengers REAR door ? I checked charging voltage and it was 15.87 volts I figured it was sufficient a little low for the vehicle i would think so i swapped out the battery because i noticed the date 7 years on 36 month battery aint bad at all. I then started to have dead batteries left and right so i took to the stereo place to see if maybe there was a problem with the install? Hadn't had a single problem til then !! They changed the remote on switch input. Fingers were crossed but No! So I then remove the alternator and take it to an auto parts store I won't bad mouth ...... said it should be fine only 2 amps under new? I was beginning to think my angry little ninja turtle on wheels has an internal issues so now I have to ask the one person I know that could figure out what is going on........ yep!! I called pops! He says sure thing drop off and I'll tinker out the trouble makers . I got a message not 2 hours after I dropped it off. ......BAD DIODE IN YOUR ALTERNATOR .....THOUGHT YOU HAD IT TESTED HE SAYS . I said I did the day before . So I know I ramble but I believe information is key!
SO WHEN YOU ADD TO YOUR INFINITY SOMETHING THAT DRAWS EXTRA AMPERAGE OR VOLTAGE CONSIDER "" TEST YOUR SYSTEM IT WILL SAVE YOU A HEADACHE You DON'T NEED.
