CD Changer/Audio System

Hello folks, I'm brand new to the forum. Sorta stumbled upon it and wanted to see/learn more. I have an '03 FX45. Recently I recognized that If I'm driving with the radio playing and switch to CD, it plays for a minute or two then cuts off or skips for a few seconds. No sound. If on the other hand I start the vehicle while on CD I don't have this experience. Has anyone encountered this before? Need advice.

Only known skipping problem on the FX is when ambient temperature is on the cold side.

I have an '03 FX 45 also and this hasn't happend to me. Are you using original CD's or home made CD's? The player might have a harder time reading the code on a copied disc.

Thank you all. SD Red, It happens with all types original or home made. First time it happened I was playin a new CD....was upset, thought the CD was damaged. But it happened with others. I guess I'll have to spring for a replacement. Calling the dealer on Monday. I'll let you know the damage. Thanks again.

Just found someone with a similar problem in the Sights/Sound/Electronic forum. They had to replace the unit. Works well now. Apparently the optical head had an alignment problem.
