Carfax question

I've been looking for a perfect used FX35 for a while now. 09+ Black Obsidian/Blue Slate with Tech Package with low miles. I found 2 CPO 09 cars in Connecticut, but I'm not sure if I'm comfortable with the carfax reports.

Carfax shows accident reported. I emailed the dealer asking if they know the extent of damage and if they have documentation. They said they didn't know but they "guessed" it would be a minor accident. They said they would get order for parts if it was a major accident, but they didn't get any parts order on this car.

Carfax for this car shows 2 owners - the first owner says "Commercial". Anyone know what this really means? I don't want to end up with a rental or any type of banged up car.

Opinions appreciated.

Personally Id stay away from anything that was in an accident. For the amount your paying you should be able to get a sweet FX with the comfort of mind that your car is 'clean'. you don't want to drive the FX everyday and having to keep thinking about if your car was really in something major or just minor
- As for the commercial car, basically means it had a commercial plate. My mom had an 04 Chevy express van 3500 for her business with commercial plates, basically allows you to park in certain areas for loading times, my guess is the previous owner probably claimed it as his/her business and used it as a daily working car. An FX doesn't really seem like a 'working' car meant for picking up and unloading stock. Or I could be totally wrong xD

yea i agree i would stay away from an accident as well. I got my FX in IL and in IL there is no requirements to report to carfax (that i am aware of, someone can correct me if I am wrong). i am not totally familiar with Carfax, and how well people do reporting things, because like an accident for instance...would lower the value as you would imagine and some people would rather get away with making a few extra bucks. I was TOLD that there was no history of an accident in my FX, and when i went to a local shop they told me that it was in an accident and pointed out some of the body work done. I THINK it has an affect on my alignment because i can't get my alignment perfect (from what i have been told) I would not trade my FX for anything but if i could do it again i would make sure i knew everything about the prior owner(s) and everything i could gather. If i was you i would strongly encourage you be more patient (i know its hard) and make sure you get the FX that you really want. Just my opinion of course! but Good luck on your purchase
