Hello,

I'd like to get sirius XM satellite Radio for my 2004 Infiniti FX45 - Sport/Tech Package.

What hardware do I need to get this sirius xm radio in my car?
I am looking for a great model with good reception for the most clear/optimal sound.

note: I have a SAT button part of my oem head unit. that is currently wired to ipod. i dont care for ipod i want sirius xm. is this button relevant to the sirius radio that i wish to install? everything in my car is stock.

Is it easy to install or should I go get it done at a shop?
What is the easiest/recommended route? or cost effective?

Anyone out there currently using it in there 03-08 FX? how do you like it?

I know i need a subscription.

THanks!!!

Try using your SAT button and turn the right side knob, a set of numbers and letters should appear on the bottom of the screen. That's the code for your unit. Get in touch with Sirius (They have been bugging me to subscribe for months now, maybe I'll fall for their deal!)

but my SAT BUTTON IS WIRED TO ipod unit at the moment?!

What do?

Did your car come with sat radio pre-installed? If not you will have to buy a receiver and antenna and install it. If it is wired to an ipod you probably
don't have it or the receiver is not hooked up

is there a way for me to know if I have a receiver?

PAC-Audio makes a unit that will allow you to use the iPod for aux input and satellite separately, forget which one though. I had it on my 05 FX35

For mine (06+) the receiver is in the trunk near the spare tire....I believe for 03-05 they are in the passenger footwell....maybe someone else can confirm this?

I have '03. Mine is in the trunk as well. You will need a Sirius unit (made by Nissan). There is a plug in the trunk (you will have to pull the plastic that is next to the seats) - its easy plug-n-play install.

Random but, you can use save99a code to get 200+ channels for 99 cnd dollars +tax
I've been using this for quite some time and it still works.

You can use a Sirius or XM unit...they are both on ebay....as back then you had the option of both because they hadn't merged yet. My FX originally came with
a Sirius receiver and actually last year I swapped it out for an XM one as the XM one holds more channels for some reason.
