burning dvd and playing it as audio cd

As title, My 5 yr old ipod finally had its last breath last week. I'm not going to spent anymore money or time fixing it.

So for the past week I have been listening to to horrid radio station. I miss my bass thumping songs so much :(

to add to this, My macbook pro's superdrive is being a bitch too. It is only burning dvd for me not any brand of CDs.... my iphone3g also won't connect to car stereo (my gf's can so I know its not the cable or stereo problem)

I'm going to fix all of the above problem, when my next paycheque hits. For now is there any work around for playing music in my ride?

Can I burn a DVD as an audio CD and play it in the car stereo?
When I do go a purchase a new iPod, can new newest one play AND charge in the fx? I know 3g charge by usb only thus disably many accesories is the new ipod classics the same?

this is not a good month for me...
on another note my parent's benz got key on the whole left side today :( I hope my trouble ends with the stereo. compare to being keyed not having music seems like a minor inconvience.

I also had this question. If I am using the rear entertainment DVD can I burn onto DVD fomr home and use the rear DVD to play the music instead thereby getting the added bonus of having a remote controlled sound system? Say for things like tail gating?

note to self: stay the f*#k away from apple.

I've been curious about something similar.
I'm a '07 FX35 rookie, so bare with me (no manual, but I'll download a copy, I know there's a link in the forum somewhere:>)

My system doesn't have nav or sat (really wish it had sat).
Once the new USA-Spec Ipod adapter comes out I'll hook it up.

For now, I see my stereo button for cd is labeled as CD/DVD.
I stuck a movie DVD in there for the hell of it but it didn't work.

What is the DVD label for? will it read burned DVD's of MP3's... or DVD of music (same burn as a cd but just on 4.7 gig DVD media)?

Thanks
-Dave

call me a fanboy but I have had my macbook pro for umm 2-3 yrs now? Had totally of 2 crashes (yes I kept track) no virus, no spyware. Can visit porn site without worries abt malware and all that nasty. and unlike pirated windows OS, mac runs on a honor system. So no need to reformat or mess with your system every few months cause microsoft has a pirate crackdown update. I was a previous diehard windows user and now i'm never going back to using windows full time. (I do have windows 7 on the mac but it rarely gets use)

mac do occasinally have some hardware problem but that is not unique to macs. the fucking cd burner is the only problem I've had. could be as simple as a dirty lense?

iPhone on the other hand is the best phone i've had. And i've every brand, nokia, se, motor, samsung.

I suspect the iPhone problem is my wrongdoing as I was hacking into it to replace files I shouldn't.

anyways maybe i'll waste a dvd to try it out

This is an "old" thread and I am sure it has been answered somewhere else but you can indeed play mp3s off a DVD. As a matter of fact I can play both MP3s and Divx movies. Once you release the parking break the video signal from the DVD gets cut off, but the sound remains for movies. The MP3s play off the DVD without a problem.
This is in a 2010 FX35. I recorded the DVD as DataDVD (Multisession so I can add more things later on) with Nero 7. Hope this helps.

i forgot to add, my fx is with navi...

I'm just wanting to clarify something. Does the front-loading slot read DVDs? Or is it only the under-armrest slot in entertainment-equipped models?
