I used Turtlewax Wheel cleaner and apparently has gotten on the brake rotors. I noticed that my brake was smoking one day and thought it was the calipers locking. I decided to do Brakleen by CRC to avoid expensive fix and so far no smoke. Anyone else experience this? thanks
No risk to the car or brakes. They will heat up and burn off any chemical on the surface. It will stop smoking when the chemical is gone. You used the right thing to clean the rotors but there was never any danger.
thanks man for the reply. I just cant believe the delearship was ready to replace my calipers for $500. I tried to suggest the fact that it might be just debri or cleaner on rotors.
