Hello All,

I'm not sure if this has already been shared with everyone, but I have been looking for a sub with amp to fit inside my spare tire just like the stock Bose sub use to (Mine was blown and trashed).

I found a sub with amp that fits perfectly in the spare sub enclure, sounds pretty decent, and is less than $100! I'm very please with the outcome,

Here's the info if anyone is interested. It's pretty much an exact fit, was destiny.

I can't post a link up as I don't have enough post yet, just search Rockville RW8CA powered active subwoofer, it's an 8" 600 watt sub. $95 on Amazon right now.

I spliced into the existing Bose wires and also ran a power cable from the battery department. Few more posts and I'll show you pictures of what it looks like in my trunk.

I did it all by following the instructions from this thread, you will have to search the forum as I cannot still post links. Gosh, so high maint around here lol

Pix and Link if you wanna purchase above.

On a side note, I did need a Hi/Low frequency pass in order to get the correct imput signals through to the sub.

Awesome that it fits like that. I wonder if you could re-purpose the original Bose enclosure to make a mount for your new sub. Im interested too - how does it sound compared to the original?

How does it compare to the stock Bose?

I can say that this 8" sub will give a deeper frequency response than the stock bose 6" ones do, but I cannot really say that it would give more output bass wise.

I listen to Deep House music where Bass is a huge factor, and I can say that I'm actually pretty satisfied with the results I have rec'd. But as for replacing a working Bose sub with this one, I cannot say that it's that much better or practical in replacing with, and really would say that this is a great option for someone looking to replace their blown out sub or install one when replacing with a new Bose is not affordable/ possible.

I do apologize, but I actually just went to a local shop that recommended the filter to me and I'm not positive on which one they did install. I believe it was a high pass filter because when I tried hooking up myself, the input volume was not loud enough when it was received into the AMP/ sub. I will see if I can find more info on this though...
