Blown fx45 engine - please help! (MAY PART OUT THE ENTIRE VEHICLE)

My fx45 with 105000 miles (about 160000km) has blown (I believe a spun bearing, but not sure yet)

What engines will fit (as I cannot find a FX45 engine)

M45?
Q45?

Other?

I have read some info on swapping the oil pan and / or the starter being on the opposite side, but no confirmed data to back it up...

PLEASE HELP - the M45 / Q45 motors are available... but they sellers don't want any liability if it does not bolt up.

May part out the vehicle, but not sure if I can get $9k out of it the way it sits. The entire vehicle is in great shape... so doors, seats, transmission, lights etc... who knows... maybe I can come close since it seems parts for these are hard to find / come by. Would love to sell it whole and as it is.

Hopefully I can get the engine quickly and swapped in, as the longer it sits, the more I want to get rid of it.

Really need to know if the M45 and / or the Q45 engine is a drop in. The japanese auto part places around here have those engines, but not the FX45 one - though they claim them to be the same and mentioned some parts may need to be swapped or custom.

I don't mind swapping bolt on parts, but custom... don't want the shop to have to get into that.

Really love my FX.... just pissed that a motor is so hard to find (the FX45 one)

$5400 is a bit too much... while new and I'd love to, I just want to get the vehicle back to how it was for much much less - and get rid of it later next year!

I dont know anything about rebuilding the engine, and don't know of a trustworthy shop locally to do a rebuild. I know if I get an engine, I can have it swapped in.

Yes I am asking for help, and am new on the board, I have been on other forums but in the past few years have not been active and this has been a daily driver with no issues until now.

The main problem I have is that I have access to M45 and Q45 engines, but I do not know if its a drop in / bolt up type of install into the FX45...

Another option - Spec the engine you are looking to buy M45 or Q45, find the exact car that engine is in and take some pics measurements.....Going to have to do some homework if you want to swap.

From what I have been told, the starter for the M and Q are on the opposite side and there are some other differences, so its no a drop in.

The 3.5 motor would work, but the mounts, wiring harness, ecu etc... need to be changed.

Hard to find a 4.5 engine from an fx45... VERY rare.

That motor on Kijiji, well he doesnt really know whats good or what isn't then I don't know what is wrong with mine in details - with buying, swapping parts / labor and not a full new rebuild - its not worth it to get into that (so I feel)

Thanks JCASANOVA - I called him / left a vm / emailed him etc...

He has not got back to me as of yet - fingers crossed that it is a reasonable price with some sort of warranty and that he can ship to Canada.

I have searched long and hard, but cannot find if anyone has swapped in the engine from an FX35 into the FX45. I have access to the motor, ecu, harness etc... - would this work?

I stopped by there earlier today looking for a dvd player (craigslist ad -- astro-used-parts.com in Wilmington, CA) -- that FX45 engine is still in the vehicle, fwiw.

I'm on my second engine for my 35. There was an oil leak and the oil leaked out and messed up the engine. I received mine from Japan. I believe it was only 35 engines but they may have 45, I'll look up the place where I got it and post it. I think it was 1400 for my full engine with 50,000 miles on it. It is all the checks with pressure testing paperwork. Not bad

Here it is

I sold the vehicle on Ebay complete - buyer picked up this weekend. Please lock.

The fx35, I have access to an engine, transmission, ecu, harness etc... for $2500 complete locally. The 4.5 is hard to come by, even from japan ...
