BG44K Fuel Additive

Never heard of it, but I have heard that sea foam is good stuff, check it out on google and in youtube.

I've used seafoam on my Accord and you can see it working based on what is coming out of your exhaust. I can almost say that I had so much build up in my engine over the years that my gas mileage has gone up a bit after 3 treatments. I guess I can also, marginally, say that I've gotten better accelerator response. I don't know about the other stuff tho.

I followed a youtube video director on how to apply seafoam on my accord. I'm not sure if you'll see something on the FX.

Ive always wanted to try the seafoam.....

YouTube- How-To Seafoam

In Tune-Up of 4 Cycle Gasoline Carbureted or Fuel Injected Engines
Autos, Trucks, and Tractors
 1.
With engine warm, slowly pour 1/3 to 1/2 pint through carburetor or throttle body throat. (If vehicle is port injected slowly pour SEA FOAM through direct manifold vacuum line that will feed all cylinders, possible sources are P.C.V. valve or brake booster line.) This will pull SEA FOAM down on top of the pistons and to the back of the intake valves to dissolve carbon. Turn ignition off. Restart engine after 5 minutes. If severe carbon build up is apparent, use more Sea Foam as previously directed. Make sure exhaust is well ventilated when using Sea Foam in these various ways as fumes will be extreme for a short time.
Pour 1/3 to 1/2 pint into oil crank case to clean rings, lifters, dirty parts and remove moisture.
Pour 1/3 to 1 full pint into fuel tank to clean injectors, carburetor jets, fuel lines and remove moisture.
 2. Immediate Results: Smoother idle, increased R.P.M.'s better throttle response and improved performance. See label on can for detailed results for use in each area.
FUEL TANK, CARBURETOR, INJECTION and OIL CRANKCASE.
For Peak Performance, Use SEA FOAM Every 2,000 to 5,000 Miles

 • A 100% pure petroleum product for use in all gasoline and diesel type engines, both 2 and 4 cycle. OXYGEN SENSOR SAFE.
 • Cleans dirty engine parts internally by removing harmful gums, varnish and carbon. WORKS AND PERFORMS INSTANTLY.
 • Removes moisture from oil crankcases and fuel tanks.
 • Stabilizes and conditions fuels. Use for engine storage.
 • Cure hesitations, stalls, pings and rough idle due to carbon buildup.
 • Helps pass emissions test. EPA Registered.
When Used Thru Injection or Carburetor

 • Cleans carbon build up
 • Cleans intake valves and pistons
 • Gives smoother idle
 • Cleans catalytic converter odors
 • Cures hesitations and pings
 • Restores power and pickup
 • With warm engine running, SLOWLY pour 1/2 pint through carburator, throttle body or direct manifold vacuum line that will feed ALL CYLINDERS. Possible sources are P.C.V. valve or brake booster line. Turn ignition off. Restart engine after 5 minutes. Be sure exhaust is well ventilated. Fumes will be extreme for a short period of time.
 • For use in injector cleaning machines, use 50% SEA FOAM and 50% fuel.
 • Fill diesel filters with SEA FOAM to clean injectors fast.
When Added to Crankcase (Oil)

 1. Frees sticky lifters and rings
 2. Increases R.P.M.'s vacuum and compression
 3. Cleans dirty parts
 4. Removes moisture
 5. Cleans PCV valve systems
One pint treats 10 quarts of oil (avg. 1 1/2 ounce per quart).

When Added to Fuel Tank
 • Cleans fuel injectors and carburetor jets
 • Cleans carbon as you drive
 • Lubricates upper cylinders
 • De-ices and removes moisture
 • Diesel full conditioner and anti gel
 • Stabilizes fuel
One pint treats 8-25 gallons of fuel (average 1 ounce per gallon).

In Injector Cleaning Machines

Add a 50/50 blend of fuel and SEA FOAM into injector cleaning machine. Run directly through the fuel rails to clean injectors fast. Add SEA FOAM to your fuel tank to clean injectors as you drive.

Ooooh. That's one of the videos I watched to get me started. It's not that hard. I'm too scared to try on the FX, but I do it every 3 months or so on my beater.

Dont shoot me - but if someone can point me to the P.C.V. valve or brake booster line I will try it in the coming weeks lol. :ehh:

So 1/3 into the P.C.V. valve or brake booster line
1/3 into the gas tank
1/3 into where we pour the oil into?

I let 2/3 go in directly to the engine through one of the vacuum lines on my accord and pour the remaining 3rd in the gas tank.

Will, take a video and make it a DIY. I also want to see how much smoke will come out from your FX.

If you look at the front left of your plenum you will see a unused covered nipple, just connect a small vacuum line to that and it should work fine.

I've used SeaFoam also (can get at local auto parts store) on my Accord.
Works (see it from exhaust) and its good for higher mileage cars

i'd be willing to bet that most of that smoke is coming from the actual sea foam itself, not from the gunk it is meant to break down.

you would loose that bet.

it depends how "dirty" your intake is.... sometime I hardly get smoke, but when used on a 1996 Plymouth Van ... big whomps of smoke

I used to use seafoam on my caddy northstar, they were notorious for carbon buildups... mine came from a little old man so the carbon buildup was really intense... first 5-10 times I opened her up hard right after I bought it I would get huge clouds of black smoke... took several cleanings & several tankfuls to get it cleared up

you will get more carbon buildups if you drive a car very easy, if your the type to punch it hard & beat it every once in a while then carbon buildup should be much less of an issue. don't think the vq's have all that much of a carbon buildup issue to begin with...

Someone needs to run that stuff once to clean it then run it a second time and see how much smoke comes out the second time if any. I was thinking same thing gchristopher9 was, that some of that smoke is the sea foam. How much is this stuff?

$6-9 a bottle

Of course some of the smoke comes from the seafoam itself, but the more deposits the more smoke.

Do i have to remove the engine cover to see it?
