Hi,

Im planning to swap out the stock battery for an optima yellow top. My ques is what settings will I lose and have to reprogram after I disconnect the battery. Im debating if it is worth swapping out. What i'm trying to avoid is the problem with the windows not closing all the way after a battery pull. Thank u all for your help.

You will lose:
-Am/Fm stations- If you dont know your settings..just write them down on a piece of paper..I have to do this when trying to hide new additions to my car and have to hide it from the wifey. I don't want her asking why all her stations are all messed up...:smile (2):

-driver seat setting- Just put your seat in the proper position before you undo the battery, then just reset it to #1 or 2...again if your wifey has one of the settings, put it to her setting, another thing you have to do to hide things.....lol

That's pretty much it.

Thank you all for your help. If these are all the settings I will lose then it is definately worth swapping the stock battery out. As far as the window problem, I read it somewhere on this forum. I will try to find it and post it here. But thank you all for the help!

Toy4x, i found your response amusing, lol. Thanks for your help.

When I changed my battery on my 03 FX35 I connected a small computer UPS size 12V battery via aligator clip leads to the ground and B+ fuse block and then disconnect the main battery. I dont loose any settings! Just make sure the small battery is fully charged ( over 12VDC) otherwise the main car battery will try to charge it through the small aligator clips and "BOOM".

Hey everyone,

Just swapped the battery out for an optima yellow top today but the setting that auto adjusts the seat back and steering up is not working anymore. I checked under settings in the computer and it is highlighted as being on, I even tried to save the seat settings with the steering low and seat all the way up front and nothing. Anyone know what else I can try? Thanks for the help.

P.S. It was a bitch changing out the battery on the FX. Cant believe it took me an hour to change the battery out, i would say 55 minutes of the hour was spent on the stupid tie downs, it was almost impossible to align the back tie down to the hole.
