I'm shopping for wheels for my FX and need a little advice. I'm trying to make it handle better (my springs and GT-Spec braces were ordered today) so I'm sticking with 20" rims as I can't afford forged 22's.

I've settled on either the 20" Axis Shine or the 20" OZ Ultraleggera HLT. I really like the Shines but the big lip makes them look small once they're on the car. The Ultraleggera's look really sweet on the FX from the pix I've seen here on the forums and they're lighter as well, which is a bonus.

I can get the Ultraleggeras's from Tirerack but they have a 40mm offset. Are those of you who have these wheels running spacers as well? The rim is only 1/2 inch wider so I assume it's still tucked in a bit.

Any thoughts on these wheels and whether or not they need spacers? Thanks.

So I'm guessing that's a yes on the spacers then if I go with the 40mm offset. I'm assuming the standard H&R DRS 20mm's would do the trick? Where did you find the Ultraleggera's with a 25? I can't find them anywhere in anything but a 20x8.5/40.

I just found a thread by another member here in Philly that has the same wheels, maybe I'll PM him and see if can meet up to take a look at them.

I found the 25et at tirerack before they stopped selling them. Also that person in the link does not own his car anymore.

Thanks for the info. I guess it's back to the drawing board on the wheels. This entire offset thing makes my head hurt. I can never figure out what the ideal offset is for a given rim width so it will sit flush. I know each tire is different so that will affect the overall look but I would still like to figure out the sweet spot in terms of offsets for each rim width. Guess I know what I'm doing tonight...
