Hi Guys,
Last week after starting my car and shifting to Reverse I noticed that my Around View Monitor didn't Engage (Note that my AVM only works in Reverse due to NY State Restrictions). I figured that maybe it just didn't register as being in R so didn't think anything of it. After arriving and then leaving my destination and shifting to Reverse I noticed that the camera image was flickering drastically in between the camera view and regular screen before leaving the camera screen all together. From then on both by AVM and Sonar system has completely stopped working. The "Camera" option has disappeared from settings and it won't let me into the camera config option on the diagnostic menu. I have an 08 EX35 with Bose/Nav/AVM. I've done a ton of research, but I'm not very good with electronics and wiring diagrams. I did check fuse #19 and #34 (from FSM) and both were fine.
Here as the error codes in the log from the diagnostic menu (settings + audio counterclockwise).
AV Comm Circuit 0
Internal Communication Error 14
Switches Connection Error 2
iPod Connection Error 2
AVM Connection Error 31
-----When clicking on those codes I found that the first and last errors happened at my home (it shows a GPS location), while the 3 middle errors happened while driving (all 3 at the same GPS location).
Here are the items from the AV Comm Diagnosis...

------I also noticed that the first 8 or so items before the 3 above issues all had shown "OK" for Status but had a count of 14...I believe that means those items are all functioning properly?
From the page that shows the connection between items (in boxes with lines) here are the issues:
Control Unit-----Green Square in Box, Yellow Line to "Around View"
Around View----Gray Square in Box, Yellow Line to "Control Unit" and "Sonar"
Sonar------------Gray Square in Box, Yellow Line to "Around View"
...When clicking on "Around View" the error is "control unit"...when clicking on "Sonar" the error is "Around View"....when clicking on "control unit" there are no errors (hence the green box?)
From the AV FSM I found the same picture of the boxes with yellow lines as detailed directly above (First box above AV-487) and here's what it says...
Detection Logic: Around view monitor control unit power supply or ground circuits malfunction are detected.
Malfunction/Action: Around view monitor control unit power supply and ground circuits
Also from the AV FSM I found all of the 5 errors in the log shown above in unison on AV-495 (AV Comm cicuit through AVM Connection Error) which noted the following...
Detection Logic: Malfunction is detected in the AV communication circuits.
Malfunction/Action: Check and repair the short circuit in AV communication circuits.
This is as far as I'm able to get as I really don't know what the above malfunction/action means to do or check. I did check fuse #34 as well as #19 both of which were fine (verified by switching with known working fuses). I know that the AVM control unit is located under the seat and the carpet so I'm hoping that there are other places or things to check before diving into that much teardown. If anyone has any experience with a similar issue with the AVM & Sonar systems, or knows what to do based on the Malfunctions/Actions noted above it would be much appreciated. If you need any more information that I've possibly omitted just let me know. I certainly appreciate it...
