auto window issues

2004 infiniti fx45
did a search on the scene and came up empty.

after some haters broke my driver rear window i had them since replaced... (safelite auto glass), after i got the car back, safelite claims they couldnt reprogram the window... what happens is, when they engage either power window button to roll the window up automatically the window will drop down a few inches... but if i manually roll the windows up its fine (manually, meaning holding the power window button).

so safelite tells me to bring to the dealer for a reprogram.

i go to the dealer and they too couldnt figure it out either... final assumption, when the glass was vandalized, pieces of glass that trickled into the door shell may have damaged the motor... new motor $500...:eek.:

wtf - the motor is working fine manually :confused:
 
there are 2 different reset procedures, one involves just holding the switch for an extended period of time in each direction while the other involves pressing a reset button on the motor. if neither work then motor needs to be replaced or possibly can be "re clocked"? I have the same problem with my fx for over a year now & I can't even figure out how to solve it myself... neither reset does it for me & I sure don't want to replace the motor just for that too, so I have been just living with it... it's annoying but you get used to it after a while too, it's very annoying though when no one else can figure out how to close the window without having it kick back open, luckily hardly anyone ever has a chance to ever drive it for it to be an issue anyway but...
