Apply 5.0 logos

Hi,
I have acquired through my local infiniti dealer two 5.0 decals for my 2009 FX50S. They are designated CL and CR. Am I correct to assume that CL is the drivers side ? Quite frankly they look identical. ( wish I could post a picture ) These mount just to the side of the vents.
Now to align them , no instructions came with. Is there any way to find a procedure for this ? I assume the two holes on other side are for alignment. I can "eyeball" them no problem....but would like to do this properly, any advice greatly appreciated.
thanks,

ps I would add attachments, but cannot for some reason. Not enabled. Can someone help with this so I can add them ?

So from the factory the badges aren't directional?

If they really were that stupid that would bother me forever. (Until I debadged them atleast actually.)

Wow I just watched a video the badges are not directional, so I guess it wouldn't matter which side you put them on...

Not sure I follow you Meme405. They are clearly marked L and R on the blue foam, and on the packaging. The p/n' s were different as well.
But they look the same to me ;)

Ah, I think i know why you have left and right sides.. look at the notching in the foam, that's likely the part which lines it up to either the fender or the chrome vent, you line it up with something to put it in the right spot.

It's either the notched corner of the foam lines up to something or the other side lines up with the edge of the fender (next to the door's edge). Something of the sort but have patience, do it once and properly :)

Agree, the notches ......and maybe holes are alignment aids. Just to figure it out :). I will also wait for the temperature to warm up a few degrees as well.

Sorry for the upside down photo :(

why would you want to add more badges :-/ already says FX50 on the back... you know it's the 5.0, lol

So here are two shots....one with the notch aligned to the fender, this to me looks de-centered.
And another with me roughly centering. I dunno, roughly centered looks correct.

jbaker1121.....This is the way they come now from factory, just sayin'

Hrm, guess that might not worked as planned.. you're in Toronto? me too!!

Back to the original topic, you can also use the top of the chrome vent to mark a horizontal line across using masking tape then align the top of the letters to not exceed further up, the letters are supposed to be inline with the vents from the top, see below:

And in terms of horizontal alignment, here's what I mean, probably easier than words:

SCY7H3,
yep, GTA. Hope to see you on the streets some day !

I agree , it does not look like this is actually templated. Will resort to your suggestion.
Thank you for the effort.

I'm sure we zoomed by eachother already, seen a few gunmetal fx's, I'll look for the 5.0 emblem ;)

Forgot to mention, that photo above that I added the red alignment marks, the chrome vent top is actually level with the car, it just doesn't look it in the photo because it was taken from the top down and the fender goes in on an angle. I'm sure you already know this but figured I'd say it anyways.

they come like this from the factory now because the back says QX70....so there are side emblems to designate the motor.... your's isn't a QX70.

as for the alignment, your 2nd picture looks angled. should rotate counter clockwise a bit

Hi,
Agree, not level, will tape it up for application ( if it ever gets mild here again )
thanks,

also try heat gun or a hair dryer ;)

Be sure to clean area with dish soap or degreaser first to remove any wax or residue and ensure a tight seal on the adhesive!

Oh and when you heat up the fender, also heat up the back of the adhesive on the emblem itself and not too close or to much heat either, you don't want to over do it.

A few distant passes of heat are better than one close up burst. I'd do the fender first, its metal and takes the heat faster, then the emblem after, aaaaand STICK!

You know I've noticed one thing here on iS, we all team up to help one another... now imagine if we all worked in the same company..that would be one successful business!

Just to clarify about what I meant the badges not being directional.

Once the badges are on the car look at each side, on one side the badges will read from front to back. On the other side the badge will appear to read from back to front.

To make it so that the badges looked the same on each side of the vehicle infiniti would have had to produced two distinct different emblems which were mirror opposites of one another, having failed to do this results in the above problem.

Also I am with JBaker slightly, I personally don't like to add emblems to cars for a few reasons:

-It is visually distracting
-Makes the car harder to clean/dry/wax
