Anyone paint or modify their center console bezel(finisher)?

Been reading through the forums and noticing other first gen FX complain about scratches and dents on the Bezel.
Anyone paint theirs or find a good replacement? Noticed one poster just used vinyl not sure that’s my thing. And $300+ for replacement only to get scratched again.:bad:

Can the Sport trim be installed on 2004 model, I heard the material was diffrent ?

Carbon fiber wrap it! Or you can send it out to get it dipped (Water Transfer Printing) solid color. After the dipping, they spray a thick coat of resin over it to protect the printing, so the thick coat of resin can act as a buffer in future wear & tear. I would not recommend dipping of carbon fiber though simply because it very hard to get the weave pattern to stick straight on the piece as the water moves the film as it the piece is being dip into the water.
 
I feel like the paint will only address the scratches etc but won't cover up dents, unless you fill then up, but then again it will probably get some scratches with time. There is so many vinyl options including faux leather if you want to try that. More forgiving, faster and you can avoid costs of permanent paint job.
