Anyone else use the dvd player for ipod input?

I see a lot of you use a ipod interface-I am sure they are useful.
I am just curious who else does this over the ipod interface connector which needs installation-
i just run the $4 headphone to rca cable to the dvd aux input in the back. I leave the cable hooked up at it just lays by the seat. Get in plug it up, good to go. Also the ipod touch/iphone with a rubber otter box case fits directly into the tape player opening and is perfectly displayed

Yea thats what i did and save a bundle not purchasing a ipod interface plus instalation

The rear DVD flip down. It has aux hookups on the front Not the navigation under the seat

I'm about to do similar thing. I'll will have video output from Ipod touch so I can play movie for the kid from ipod and have full control up front and wife can watch it up front too. long trip to grandma coming soon.
