I had a Fx35 RWD before, then I sold it to my friend.
Now, I found a 2003 FX45 with 22k miles, good price. I'm thinking to try the V8 power from the FX.
compare to FX35, any one can tell me if there is anything bad about the FX45? (not the MPG)
anything I need to watch out?

please give me some ideas..

Thank you

Something about burning oil, blue smoke upon start up. I would jump on that deal ASAP. other than that limited aftermarket mod parts.

I just did the same thing recently. Only issues to watch out for is the possibility of oil burning, slightly less mpg and if you like to mod, the limited aftermarket support. The FX's in general are super reliable, whether you have a 35 or 45. After being on the forum for a few years, I haven't really noticed one model being better or worse. Other than that, I am completely ecstatic and satisfied with my decision to trade my 35 in. It made my FX experience even better. A 2003 with only 22K is a great find, hopefully it has the tech package. I think you will be happy with the decision if you decide on it.

For an '03 45 with only 22K miles, that's a great find. If the seller is a private individual. I would ask if he had other cars or he travels out of home alot. I'd be a bit concerned about possible neglect. Other than that, I would jump on it, would haggle the price to bring it a little bit down further. You may not have the Navi or DVD but there are always aftermarkets out there and hey you got a V8 power with one of the best AWD system!

45 = AWD = no burn outs. That's about the only thing I can complain about. I haven't tried pulling the magic fuse yet.
MPG, oil burn, and limited mods don't bother me much at all.
It could possibly be difficult to go from tech to non-tech.

22k? Let's try maybe 18k. Even with those low miles, it's still a 10 year old car, and missing some big options.

My '07 35 with 25k in 2008, and every option was just over $30k.

If you aren't sweating a few thousand bucks, and everything else what you want, then go for it!

I'd say it's def worth at least 19K I bought my 2003 45 last year with 50k miles and thought that was low, whomever is this selling must have took prestine care of it! I don't have the tech package and it does'nt bother me much, less electronics to go bad. You can always throw nav in it later for a few bills, but I end up just using my phone. Go for it! It's a great beast that smokes a little out the nostrils:wink (2):!

If your old 35 had tech, then pork is right, it may be hard to go back to a non-tech FX. If your coming around a second time for an FX, then my opinion is to get it loaded if you miss your 35. At that price point or just a little more you could get an '06 45 if you search around. Pretty much every '06+ 45 has tech and you get the facelift exterior and interior. Yes, the mileage will be much higher, but all the features you get will make you happy in the long run.

If i had a chance, to do it all again; i would start over with fx45 low miles same a your find. Throw coilovers and wide lightweight rims.

Negotiate with the selle. Try to find records, hopefully they didnt mess with the odometer.
