I'm trying to avoid beating a dead horse here, but I have seen varying opinions on where I should go from here.

I currently have the stock 18" rims on my car, these are the rims I have the winter tires mounted on and will continue to use these during the winters.

During the summers I am looking to pick up either a set of the stock FX50 21" wheels (if i can find a set they are hard to find), or a set of the OEM 20" wheels off a FX45.

My question is regarding spacers. If I buy 20mm fronts and 25mm backs I know these are good for the 18" and 20" first gen wheels, but what happens if I do end up finding a set of the 21's. How will they look with those wheels? Will I have to buy another set of different size spacers?

Initially i thought everything would be good since they were all OEM wheels but then I stumbled upon data sheet on all the rims and noticed the 2nd gen wheels are +50 offset.

The information I found on all the rims are as follows:
First Gen (2003-2008)
Question: What size are the stock 18" wheels?
Answer: 18x8, +40 offset

Question: What size are the stock 20" wheels?
Answer: 20x8, +40 offset

Second Gen (2009+)
Question: What size are the stock 21" wheels?
Answer: 21x9.5, +50 offset

I guess I might as well also ask, who around here is running 25mm all the way round? Is that okay, or do the front's poke? I am inclined to just run 25's all the way round...

The 21" wheels will be ~9mm more aggressive (outboard). They are 1.5" wider which translates into about 38mm and that means they are 19mm wider on each side than the 8" wheels. They sit 10mm further in than the 8" wheels. So a little math, and you get the 9mm further out. Honestly 9mm won't make too much difference if you're at stock height. My wheels stick out over an inch from the fenders at stock height, but since my coilovers are set low, they actually tuck slightly at actual driving height.

Personally, I'm not a fan of running flush wheels at stock height, it just looks weird. Like those trucks with the wheels that stick out past the fenders.

for the 18s and 20s i would run a 25mm spacer all around to make it flush. 20mm is still sunk in, very little though.

I am about to put 25mm spacers all around this weekend, I will snap some pics for you. I have a set of 20" OEM sport rims and also those rims PMANLIU has in his avatar (also 20") :vader:

I have 25mm all around on 22x9.5 +35. So what you see now is equivalent to +10. I'm lowered on h&r. Hope this helps. Check out some pics in my garage.

Okay, well I was always taught suspension first then wheels. But I need to wait till summer before I can lower her any. So I will do my exhaust for now and everything else later.

But I think I am going to go with H&R lowering springs with 20mm spacers all around and hunt for a set of the 21s...

Thanks for the help everyone...
