Acceleration and Fan Speed

Hey guys,

Quick question.

I have noticed that the harder I press on the accelerator pedal, the stronger the fan noise is coming from the front of the dash. Now coincidentally, I have changed an in-cabin air filter a couple days ago and that's when I started listening for all sorts of noises coming from the vents. Now, it doesn't matter if my climate control system is on or not, the slight blowing noise is there regardless.

Is this something I never paid attention to in 5 years I own this car and just being paranoid? Do you have that too?

There's air coming from the vents even if the fan is on or off and only way to stop is to use the cycle button. Didn't hear any noise with acceleration though.. Maybe my exhaust is too loud..

i'm pretty sure its normal for it to get a little louder between idle and actually driving. your electrical system is driven by your alternator, which is driven by the motor. i'm pretty sure the voltage will go up slightly between idle and driving, which would spin the fan faster.

For some weird reason, in my '89 Lincoln Continental, if I gave it a liberal push on the gas pedal, the heater/AC fan would blast through the front windshield defrost vents... no matter what vents I have it coming out of, it diverts to the defrost vents and blasts out...?

Haven't had this issue with the FX though.

that was a vacum canister problem in the lincoln, when you had low vacum the actuators would not hold the flaps, then when you decreased load it would return... fx is all electrical actuated though
