Hi guys! www.autolumination.com has some new powerful LED bulbs that go as high as 50 watts!!!
I'm looking to replace the turn signals which are 7440 bulbs - these bulbs are 21 watts.
So the question is, could the FX electric system handle wattage as high as 50 watts when the stock bulbs are only 21 watts?

Possible but you might hurt the wiring after prolong use.

I'm not a fan of aftermarket LED turn signals bulbs, they are becoming more reliable, but seem to fail every once in a while unless they are the high quality oem type.

Ive been studying led bulbs and boards for while now to see what would work best, also be the brightest for the first gen though.

I have been using the 5 watt CREE LED bulbs for over two years now. Only one failed recently. The reliability is not an issue but I'm looking to upgrade for higher brightness.
Also these new bulbs should not require load equalizers / resistors... another bonus... only if the FX system can handle it.

Hi guys, a little more info: my current set up or stock set up for turn signals uses about 2 amps of power for each turn signal. The 50 watt bulbs should use a little over 4 amps of power.

It wouldn't blow out the system, but prolonged use will probably melt the wires or plug from the heat. On previous cars, I've melted plenty of plugs/wires by running higher wattage bulbs. You may even melt the housing or warp it. 50 watts of LED is really, really bright. Why would you want that? Seems sort of pointless.

^ it would be like having another headlight, extra lumen output and if you have super bright headlights already it would help factor that in so your turns are more visible !
