405/25R24 in the rear

I know this sounds crazy but I just thought about running 405/25R24 in the rear with 14.5 inch rim and 295/35R24 in the front with 10.5 inch rim.
Overall diameter for 405 is 31.97 inch and for 295 it is 32.13 inch. Close enough to work with AWD system. 405 is made by Pirelli but you can only get them from ebay for now. I believe it's the widest tire available for consumers. 295 size Pirelli doesn't make in 35R24 so I think Hankook Ventus RH06 will work. Two different brands and two diffenrent tread pattern but I like this combo. Guys I'm not saying I'm gonna do this crazy set up. Just curious what you guys think about this and what kind of work needs to be done in the back to run 405 wide tire. Also which 24 inch rim you suggest for this setup.

Have you lost your damn mind?

Without either poking out the side of the car by 3 inchs, or moving towards the most ludicrous widebody kit, there is no way in hell that would ever work.

Also what wheels have you found that are offered in 14.5" width? Cause I have only seen heavy duty truck wheels that wide...

Hahahahahaaaaa

It was merely an observation.

I mean anything can be made to work with enough money, but at some point you should really stop and think, "wow this is pretty stupid. Why am I doing this?"

I think with the perfect offset, negative camber and coilovers (to lift the car up might work). The downside would be your car would lose low-end torque on initial acceleration due to the gearing differences (i think). Might need bigger brakes or better aftermarket brakes (rotors and pads). Did i mention gas mileage? you'll get pooor mpg

come to think of it speedo would be off to

they do look tight on the chevelle on youtube. if you can tub the fx then may be.... but ya gonna need the 850whp setup to go with these big shoes

^^That's what I was thinking too. Unless you're widebody, it's not going to work. You could maybe get a 13" wheel in there if the tire was stretched, but 14.5" w/ a 405 tire would stick out 3" or so. And you'd have to run stock height and maybe -6 camber. Plus the wheel would weigh 100 lbs. For this great idea, you'd pay north of $10K too. However, you would look awesome rolling through the projects.

at first I though the 405 was mispelled for 305. When I opened the thread I was like :shock::shock::shock:

A 405 tire it's counterproductive from my point of view. For looks you may be able to pull it of with modifications to the fender but in terms of performance you won't be getting any. You will see a decrease in performance, MPG and put useless strees on wheel bearings and suspension components.

i run 12 inch width at the rear with 335-25-22's on a stock body ( rolled fender ). I maxed out the rear and believe i coud have gone 12.5 but believe this is the maximum you would be able to put on a non-widebody FX.
